1.
How many DJs does DJ Platinum Entertainment employ?
My name is Brandon Olivarez and I own and operate DJ
Platinum Entertainment. I am the exclusive DJ and personally perform
at all events that are contracted. This website is the first step to
help potential customers familiarize themselves with my company. My
name, picture, and information about my services are clearly explained
throughout this website.
In your search for a DJ you are likely to encounter
websites that are very vague about who owns the company in addition
to providing very little information that is useful. I enjoy a solid
reputation within the special events industry and proudly provide full
disclosure about who I am and what I provide. It is my hope that if
your event requires a legitimate professional my willingness to provide
any information you would like is a good starting point in finding a
DJ with a solid reputation.
2. How do you decide what music
to play at an event?
I furnish my clients with our Music Search & Request
System which allows you to search, listen, and build your own music
play list for your event. We also provide each client with a “most
requested” song list, to help our clients take as active a role
as desired when requesting music for their event. Though the client
requests have the highest priority, I also take requests from the guests
as long as they fall within the parameters established by my client.
I am usually asked to contribute to the music programming as well since
I have experience entertaining diverse groups of people. This blend
of input allows me to get a feeling for what the people want to hear
and program the music so that there is a balanced mix.
3. Do you take any breaks during
the event?
I play music beginning with the arrival of the first
guest straight through the final dance. The only pause of music is for
presentation purposes.
4. What do you wear when you
DJ?
I dress accordingly to the type of event I am working.
Whether it’s a tuxedo, coat & tie, or khakis and a polo, I
always discuss with my client what their preferences would be so that
I reflect their wishes.
5. What types of music do you
have in your music library?
All of the popular genres of music from the 1940’s
through today can be found within my library. With over 70,000 song
titles to pick from, the library is very well balanced. Anything available
from local music retailers is also at your disposal as I am willing
to purchase any music my client requires as long as it is carried in
stock.
6. Do you carry backup equipment?
Yes. Though an equipment failure has never occurred,
I am prepared as the sound system includes 2 different computer DJ programs,
An I-Pod, and 2 powered speakers on stand by. With this configuration
of equipment I can rewire the system should something out of the ordinary
happen. The highest quality equipment along with well thought out planning
virtually eliminates the chance of an equipment failure.
7. Do you act as master of ceremonies
in addition to playing music?
Yes. This is a commonly asked question as any event
is greatly enhanced by a polished presentation. I am accustomed to delivering
a polished presentation as master of ceremonies while at the same time
keeping other event professionals informed of relevant details so they
can best perform their duties as well.
8. Do you use a written contract?
Yes. All important details are spelled out in an easy
to read contract so that both parties have a full understanding of the
agreement being entered into.
9. Are you licensed and do
you carry liability insurance?
Yes. I am licensed to provide professional services
and also carry liability insurance. A license is required to legally
provide services and while the insurance is not required it is worthwhile
protection for both me and my clients should something unfortunate happen.
10. Why should we hire you?
Experience, Passion,
and Commitment. In a world where downloaded music and cheaply produced
audio gear has become common, so has the misconception that anyone with
a lot of music and a sound system can provide adequate services. Music
and audio gear are merely tools and the tools alone do not level the
playing field. In any profession, knowledge is king and a great deal
of the knowledge possessed by top-notch professionals is derived from
real world performance. My passion and commitment are part of who I
am, however without some experience, I would not be able to take full
advantage of these traits. My customers get my full attention and the
peace of mind that comes from knowing they are in very competent hands.
